Michelle: All right, nurse verse. Gang, we want to try something different this time.
Lindsay: We want to do a spelling test.
Michelle: No kidding.
Lindsay: A, vocab test. No.
Michelle: We want to talk about the difference between health and wellness.
Lindsay: So what is health?
Michelle: What is wellness? This was a question that, I’m gonna say my best friend, Allie, but it’s really Lindsey’s best friend now.
Lindsay: Our best friend.
Michelle: Ally.
Lindsay: Ally.
Michelle: Ally.
Lindsay: She asked this question.
Michelle: Yes, she asked this question. And I thought it was a very great question because I think we use a lot of words interchangeably.
Lindsay: Yeah. That’s english language for you.
Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. And I think that can be confusing for people. and everybody might have a slightly different interpretation of what one or the other means.
Lindsay: So what we mean by it.
Michelle: Yeah.
Lindsay: By the word health, we mean, like, how you are. Like, physically. Yeah. It’s like, the physical aspect of health.
Michelle: Yeah. Your health is the physical state of your body. Like, what do your labs look like? What does your body composition look like? do you have any chronic ailments? That’s when I think of. That’s what I think of when I think about health.
Lindsay: When I think about wellness, I think of, like, the things that you don’t see, like your mental health, like your energy, your relationships. Yeah.
Michelle: Your time spent in nature, your connection with other people.
Lindsay: Yeah.
Michelle: So now that we’re thinking about this, I think we really talk way more about wellness.
Lindsay: Yeah. Yeah.
Michelle: We’re basically talking about wellness.
Lindsay: But we do,
Michelle: But your wellness directly impacts your health.
Lindsay: True.
Michelle: I think health always takes the precedent, obviously, because it’s the more important of the two. Like, you have to have your health.
Lindsay: In order to function, because that’s your vehicle.
Michelle: Exactly.
Lindsay: Your body is your vehicle.
Michelle: But because of that, the focus has been on the health, and we’ve ignored a lot of the wellness. I feel like not realizing that it is the wellness that inevitably leads to the health or the lack of health.
Lindsay: True.
Michelle: In my personal opinion, but I would have to agree. Yeah.
Lindsay: Yeah.
Michelle: So leave us a comment if you have a different interpretation of it. We actually did not. I did not look up on Webster dictionary, the definitions. No.
Lindsay: And we’re just shooting the shit. This is our. Yeah, off the dome.
Michelle: Yeah, off the dome. Shooting the shit.
Lindsay: And, that’s what we think might be vastly different from you. You or what you think.
Michelle: Yeah. We’re very curious, though, to hear from the audience what you guys think about it as well. and your interpretation of those words.
Lindsay: Yeah, let us know. Okay, thanks. Bye.
Michelle: Okay, thanks.
Lindsay: Bye.
